Rippers, Burgers & Boneless Wings at FANFARE EATERY, Fairfax, VA

A Bacon & Cheese Ripper and a Chili & Cheese Ripper

Don’t be fooled by the name or the first appearance of Fairfax, Virginia sports-themed restaurant FANFARE EATERY.  Because, although it may appear to be an imitation of the disgusting Fuddruckers chain, Fanfare is pleasingly way more!  Burgers, milkshakes, hot dogs, bacon, wings, mac & cheese, cheesesteaks and salads, all grace the Fanfare menu in true all-American glory. Put simply, their food is stuff only dreams are made out of – idealized greasy American fare, one can easily imagine scarfing down at Mudville with Casey up at bat.

Fanfare Eatery's Boneless Wings

The owners of the Glory Days Grill founded Fanfare Eatery a few years ago, and their attention to sports detail is evident in everything from ESPN on the TV screens, camouflaged bathrooms painted as sports locker rooms and the stadium-friendly menu that would appeal to anyone who enjoys the comfort of American food.

A Burger & Onion Rings at Fanfare Eatery

The burger was well-portioned.  It wasn’t too big, but it was greasy all around!  Even the soft and toasty bread was deliciously slippery from grease!  The onion rings were crispy, oversized, decadent and delicious!  The boneless wings were glazed nicely with a buffalo sauce and topped with jalapeno peppers that made them fiery good.  I had an Oreo milkshake, but after one bite of the wings, I had to gulp down some water just to cool down my blazing taste buds!

But one of the menu’s best and most featured items, has to be the Fanfare Rippers – 100% all-beef hot dogs served on a Bavarian pretzel roll that is fresh and soft, topped with a variety of flavors!  I tried the bacon and cheese ripper and the chili and cheese ripper!  They were over the top good!  Sloppy, drippy, and packed with flavor and texture, these hot dogs were outstandingly impressive!  While one goes for about $4, you can get two for about $6.50.

The prices are pretty reasonable at Fanfare.  And although it’s set up like a fast food joint, the food at Fanfare is way better than any fast food chain, so the extra in money is well worth it.  Whether you order a burger, hot dog or one of their sides, the food and recipes at Fanfare are  more luxe, more detailed, and more delicious than any stadium or McDonald’s!  I enjoyed the relax environment with great and friendly service as I took in all the sports regalia and was able to pleasantly fill my belly without breaking the bank.
