Restaurant of the Week: HOUSTON’S
I am not big on chain restaurants… I don’t find many of them to have fresh ingredients or quality food… But every now and then you might catch me in Cheesecake Factory or PF Changs. But the chain restaurant that NEVER disappoints, and, to me, is far better than the rest, is HOUSTON’S, and that’s why they are this week’s Restaurant of the Week!
Sprawled across the United States, I’ve been going to Houston’s since I was a teen! Hawaii flavored steaks, burgers, ribs and more – Tyra Banks, Kimora Lee, Sheree Whitfield & Vivica Fox are all fans of this feast-like haven.
I stopped in the other day at their Peachtree Street location in Atlanta with Vivica and our friend Azja. We started with the artichoke and spinach dip. Any Houston’s regular will tell you this is a must-have. Creamy, rich, cheesy and salty make this the perfect appetizer!
I always get the ribs at Houston’s! Normally served with cole slaw and french fries, I opted for a loaded baked potato the other day and it was divine! The generous portions made for enough for everybody to try some of everything! The crab cakes were real meat and creamy and delicious, the ahi tuna salad was equally scrumptious. The fact of the matter is, anything you get off the menu at Houston’s is bound to knock you off your feet! I washed everything down with fresh-squeezed lemonade.
The service was amazing! Because we were with Vivica, the head chef, Tony Douse (I think), came by and greeted our table…
Here’s a shot of us pleasantly stuffed after lunch! Houston’s is by far one of, if not THE BEST, chain restaurant offered in the United States… If you haven’t been, what an injustice! Take a trip there this week and you will be talking about it all week long!
