Lunch at the NEWSROOM, Beverly Hills, CA

Robertson Boulevard in Beverly Hills is one of the most paparazzi-laden streets in all of LA, probably more so than Rodeo. It seems that no matter what time of any given day, there is always a celebrity lunching at The Ivy or shopping it up at Kitson or Lisa Kline. But I recently stopped on Robertson to have lunch at the trendy NEWSROOM CAFE, where the menu is all about fresh ingredients and healthy dining options for maintenance of one’s LA physique.
The Newsroom may not get the same press as the legendary Ivy, located across the street from one another, but the Newsroom attracts just as much star power and the food is far times better! Naturally, there is a newspaper and magazine stand inside of The Newsroom, so although it’s fun for star-sightings, it’s also a great place to dine solo and scan one of your favorite periodicals.

The other day I stopped by the Newsroom, and, as always, was impressed by their expansive menu! Salads, sandwiches, burgers, eggs, pastas, and breads all made with fresh and organic ingredients, the magnificent thing about The Newsroom is that one can eat healthy with the restaurant’s generous portions and still get satisfying quality in flavor from their distinctive flavors and recipes used.
The soup of the day was the Jamaican Corn Chowder… It was spicy, creamy and rich. I ordered the cup and was pleasantly satisfied by the warmth and exquisite taste. I followed that with the Pechuga Parilla Salad, another menu specialty, and it was divine – warm chili-lime-rubbed grilled chicken over a bed of spinach tossed with onions, quesadilla slices, avocado, tomatoes and a salsa viniagrette made for a splendidly delicious tex-mex combination as if I was dining across the border!

I also had an amazing fruit and vegetable juice that was showcased on the Juices and Smoothies page of the menu that reads like a magazine. It would be impossible for me to highlight the diverse variety of The Newsroom menu in one post! But you better believe there is something for everyone at this casual and oh-so LA hot spot. Above is a photo of one of their many pasta dishes – the chicken and penne.
I love the Newsroom. I actually saw David Hasselhoff and his girlfriend checking out some magazines during this particular visit! The Newsroom is a great spot for good food, celeb watching and Beverly Hills living!
Have you ever stopped by The Newsroom?

I love a good healthy options restaurant - and the celebrity sightings isn't bad either. Thanks for the tip, B.J.
