FUN & FOOD FOR FILA @ Hotel Chantelle, NYC
Last night I stopped by the hip and gritty Hotel Chantelle at 92 Ludlow Street in Manhattan’s Lower East Side district for a the launch of FILA‘s new accessories collection, inspired by the legendary cartoon action figures the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Neon lights, encased sneakers and branded signage helped entertain the crowd of hip twenty-somethings in the dark and cramped multi-level restaurant and lounge. The city’s newest urban scenesters clad in faux fur, Monclair vests, and tailored street attire donned shaved heads, spiked rings, studs and piercing. I was highly entertained and was equally inspired by their nightlife enthusiasm and edgy flair.
Slider, cheese sticks, meatballs and “cowabunga” pizza were served by lovely cocktail waitress in mid-drift tee’s.
The food was just ok. The margarita pizza may have been the best thing, but the meatballs were also delicious. The burgers were undercooked.Nickoldeon co-hosted the event and Rick Gonzalez of Coach Carter fame mingled with up and coming rappers while DJ Soul and Just Blaze kept every toe tapping while blasting the bopping sounds of Kanye West and Jay Z.
The new collection was neatly displayed in glass cases and bartenders and staff all sported Fila apparel.
I had a good time last night hanging with the youngin’s and wanted to share with you!
