TASTY THURSDAY: Chicken Liver, Poussin Yasa & Beef Tenderloin @ THE CECIL, Harlem

I found myself back in Harlem last night on the corner of West 118th Street and St. Nicholas Avenue for a really scrumptious dinner at THE CECIL!  One of Harlem’s newer and swankier restaurants with an unnecessarily complicated menu that fuses Africa, Asian and American bistro fare.  The setting at The Cecil is sexy and intimate, and the service is moderately slow but friendly.  Not bad for a new spot with an ethnically diverse crowd of high-earning professionals.  The recipes try a bit too hard, and are far too complex to have entrees in the $30 and above range, but the ingenious dishes were beautifully presented and quite tasty, but FYI my martini was watered down.

The Cecil's Grilled Petite Tenderloin is ANYTHING but petite!  Served with Crispy Okra Fries, Sundried Tomato & Black-Eyed Pea Salad, Black Pepper Sauce, it's a bit overwhelming, but is good.
