Chic Fast-Food Dining & Sliding at POP BURGER, NYC
The other night I stopped by the Dream Hotel in Manhattan’s trendy downtown Meatpacking district for an industry party with Grammy award winner Chrisette Michele, Cosmopolitan Magazine, and Diet Coke. While Patron drinks were served abundantly, there was no food to be found… So, afterwards, I hit up the neighborhood’s best and probably only fast food spot – POP BURGER for some late night sustenance.
With three locations only in New York City, the 58-60 Ninth Avenue locale right off 14th Street is the original. There’s another in the Village and a mulit-level midtown location on East 58th Street (but I heard that closed.. not sure if that’s true or not, so don’t quote me). Anyway, it doesn’t matter which location you visit, because the Pop Burger experience is the same at each spot where glamour and luxury meet burger combos and tray service.
I can’t even tell you when Pop Burger first open, but I’d imagine they’ve been around for about ten years or so. Illuminating letters on the walls, a luxe back lounge, and a modern aesthetic of white tables, sleek chairs, and wood accents create an ideal space for hipsters, models, celebrities and New York’s pretty people to stop by for something quick during the day or a mini layover in between club hopping at night.
Whether you sit in the lounge (that offers waiter service) or upfront where you take a receipt and wait for your tray of food a la Burger King, there is something undeniably special and chic about Pop Burger. With a menu that showcases some of the best sliders ever, there are also deliciously fried shrimp sandwiches, lobster rolls with tater tots, chicken, tuna, and thick parlor-style shakes! When I’m in leisure mode, I love to grab a corner table in the lounge, order a martini, and down some shrimp sliders! It’s so European to dine fast food and still have access to alcohol.. But i know some of ya’ll aint about that life!
Anyway, I went the other night and two sliders cost $9! I couldn’t believe it! The prices at Pop Burger have soared exorbitantly! I mean, I certainly don’t remember paying that much in the past! Nevertheless, I coughed up the dough and devoured two sliders and shared some fries! Their fries, by the way, are indeed amazing!
I love Pop Burger… It’s a fashion paradise in a burger haven where senses are stimulated through details of beauty and presentation. It’s one of my favorite NYC spots and I cherish my many memories there! If you love food, Pop Burger is one of the best things the city has to offer as it’s the only fast food spot that embodies New York’s energy, style, aspirations, and aptitude perfectly.
