AMERICAN AIR Packages Up Its NUTS As First Class Falls Prey To THE STRUGGLE!

Of course, during my recent trip to Miami, I relied on the awesome American Airlines for a comfortable and safe trip, however to my own detriment, the struggle that is plaguing the airline industry has effectively began it’s own gnawing of the exclusive perks of flying first class, and I was left befuddled and hungry during my return flight home.

Sure, long gone are flight pins, smoking sections, and free checked luggage, but surviving airlines have managed to thrive by pleasing loyal customers with gregarious attendants, entertainment upgrades and first class service still being worth the extra bucks.  So you can imagine my surprise when American Airlines flight #1266 from Miami to Raleigh, where I thought I might get a hot breakfast, if not, at least American’s signature warm nuts, but instead included a passed-around a basket of bananas, Pepperidge Farm Milano cookies, and fattening and disgusting M&Ms.

I warned you a while back that I had received intel that American Airlines was scaling back on their luxurious perks (click here to read my original post about American 86′ing their deliciously fresh chocolate chip cookies delivered at the end of a flight), but getting rid of the in-flight warm ramekin of mixed nuts of pistachios, almonds, and cashews was a shock to me!  That little dish of warmth that was a perfect comforting start to any flight, is now a thing of the past.

But do not fret, American may have scaled back on in-flight services, but on longer flights, American still does offer a complete meal.  During the flight from JFK to Miami, American hooked us up with an option of oatmeal or quiche… I chose the latter and it was a decent slice, served with red potatoes, a plate of fruit and a biscuit, it was the highlight of the entire 2 hour flight.
