A Sourdough Grilled Chicken Club Meal at JACK IN THE BOX, Los Angeles

Thanks to my recent trip out west, I’ve been eating fruits and vegetables all week!  Traveling is never good to my waistline and with the abundant dining options LA offers, I always head back east feeling bloated, overstuffed and ready to diet.  One of the main reasons for this week’s reduction is because of a recent late night trip to the west coast spot Jack In The Box!

Jack In The Box is an awesome spot with more than just burgers and fries!  Having opened in 1951 in San Diego, Jack In The Box is now a bonafide west coast sensation with hundreds of locations throughout the western and southern hemisphere including California, Arizona, Texas and the Carolinas!  Open late, the fast food chain, who received mixed reviews when they introduced their Bacon Shake earlier this year, is known for their versatile and extensive menus that include jalapeno poppers, teriyaki bowls, fajita pitas, tacos, onion rings and mini corn dogs!  Kimora Lee Simmons, Tyson Beckford and Tyra Banks are all fans!  Their sourdough sandwiches are delicious and usually my first choice for late night, post-club-hopping fare!

I tried to be good and ordered their grilled chicken club meal that is served on sourdough bread, with fries and a drink!  It ran me less than $10 when I pulled up to in their drive-thru on Wilshire Boulevard.  Topped with bacon, lettuce, swiss cheese, tomato and a mayo-onion sauce, the grilled chicken is tender and moist and perfectly sandwiched between toasted buttery bread!  Their fries are crispy and delicious!  Almost like McDonald’s but with more of a bite… The portions at Jack In The Box are generous and decent.

I love Jack In The Box and have been dying to share one of their meals with you!  With an expansive menu and detailed recipes, they are more than just a fast food restaurant, but a quick and easy way to please a diverse palette, offering some of the best and most unique dishes in the fast food genre.  Their comfort food is a distinct and fried goodness all unto their own that makes for a great alternative and break from the more popular  chains that offer nothing but mere burgers, fries and chicken strips.  Jack In The Box is just so much more!
