A #2 at CHICK-FIL-A

A #2 at Chick-Fil-A

Since the beginning of June, I’ve been working on a TV project that you’ll learn more about in weeks to come, but this project has brought me to the outskirts of my hometown of Washington DC.  However, when I was calling DC home, the one thing we did not have, which is now a DC staple, was CHICK-FIL-A!  That’s right, like Starbucks, the chicken fast food spot is practically on every corner or literally at every turn.  Howard University even has one on campus!

We have been in Virginia for over a week and my producers have raved about the combo meals, the chicken sandwiches and the fact that Chick-Fil-A is one of the healthiest fast food spots ever, every day!  So, this past weekend, I gassed up the rental and jetted to a Chick Fil A to see what all the hype was about and is Chick Fil A really as good as these locals proclaim?

Chick-Fil-A

The original fillet of chicken was created in the 1940s by Chick-Fil-A founder Truett Cathy and the chicken chain opened in Atlanta in 1967!  Today, there are thousands of Chick-Fil-A’s across America in 39 states and the company is still family and privately owned!  With grilled and fried chicken sandwich options, Chick-Fil-A also offers salads, wraps, breakfast, fudge brownies, and sides that include waffles fries, cole slaw, carrots with raisins, and more!

This past weekend I ordered the #2 which is basically the #1 with lettuce, tomatoes and cheese!  But the piece de resistance of the Chick-Fil-A sandwiches has to be the PICKLES!  I didn’t realize it until I hit my 30s, but pickles on a sandwich provide a certain zest that is undeniably good!  Chick-Fil-A’s ingenious ketchup packets allow a choice to drizzle or dip and I found them to be a refreshing alternative to the standard tear and pour ketchup packets provided by other fast food chains!

The sandwich was delicious!  Soft bread and thick tender white chicken made for a succulent and juicy sandwich!  I LOVED IT!  And while I first turned my nose up at waffles fries, I found them to be a real treat!  I loved my first experience at Chick-Fil-A and can’t wait to go back again to try more from their healthy but delicious menu options!

I absolutely love Chick-Fil-A! I don't get to eat there as often as I would like, but you're right--their chicken is delicious and the bread--so soft! I love those fries as well! :)
